About
Susie Larsson is a native to Seattle, Washington and has lived
in Sweden and Arizona. She began bead weaving after a long
convalesence in 2003, and she has been beading ever since.

Her favorite technique is the Peyote stitch, which can be
found in ancient artifacts in Egypt to the Native Americans.
With this beading technique, the beads sewn together can
resemble fabric and is tactile, flexible, and delicate.

Inspiration is sparked by the Native Sami bracelets which are
made in northern Sweden in an area called Lapland. They use
leather and weave silver threads onto their bracelets, and
use reindeer horn for button clasps.

Susie uses primarily Japanese Delicas because of their
precision cuts and the wide variety of colors and finishes that
are available. Susie has a graphic design degree in visual
communications, and has used this design sense to further
establish Emerald Medusa as a fore-runner for an alternative
vision of what jewelry can be.

Susie spends her free time away from beading with her four
rescue animals, two cats and two dogs. She enjoys spending
as much time outdoors as possible, with walking, hiking, biking
and cross-country skiing and travelling.

Her true passion is to focus on her bead weaving; To watch
a piece grow, one bead at a time, is always thrilling to witness.
She is always experimenting with various mediums in her
prototypes. Stay tuned for leather, wire, and beading
intertwined into a very modern and practical piece of jewelry
for both men and women.
Susie uses metallic beads, which can include sterling
silver, 22 and 24kt gold, metallic bronze, palladium
plated, and all the colors in the rainbow.

Some pieces can take two hours and some can take
up to four hours to create.

She also enjoys photography and is currently writing
a book
Cafe Seattle which will come out in late 2012.

Some words that have been used to describe her
jewelry is “unique”, “unusual”, “sexy”, “cool”,
“beautiful”  and “gorgeous”.

Each piece is lovingly handmade,
with a strong attention to detail,
quality and care in creating
a unique piece of jewelry
for unique individuals.

My packaging choice has become a
lavender sachet, where the piece of jewelry
is infused with the relaxing scent of lavender.
There is so much stress in our fast-paced
society. This lavender sachet will help you
relax, with just one squeeze.
The strength in each piece is reflected in the thread being woven through 2-3 times
throughout the bracelet and 4-8 times around the clasp
